Welcome to NEPAtruecrime.com. a dedicated space for covering true crime mysteries in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The counties this site covers include Bradford, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming.
I’m Alison Dimitrijevic, the founder of this website. I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and I started this site to help document the region’s true crime history and mysteries, with a focus on unsolved cases and missing persons. Some of those cases are 50 years old, and others just happened last week. Every one of them matters.
For the past 10 years+, I’ve been working as a professional copywriter and editor, meaning I create content for businesses. In contrast to that, this website is my place to cover stories that are important to me on a more personal level.
My interest in local cold cases started after I got to know the daughter of Juanita Todd, a Wilkes-Barre homicide victim whose case remains unsolved more than 50 years later. Her daughter’s experience opened my eyes to the heavy weight that families carry. Losing a loved one to homicide is traumatic enough — but never getting justice or even answers? That kind of pain is hard to fathom for those of us who haven’t lived it.
What struck me even more was how alone families often are in their search for the truth. That inspired me to do what I could to help bring awareness to unsolved cases in my area.
One of my main goals is to create in-depth, accurate “case files” on local unsolved murders and missing persons, based on court records, public filings, local news archives, and, when possible, personal interviews with people connected to the case.
I also cover some current local homicide investigations.
I hope to add other writers to this website.

Editorial Standards
NEPA True Crime follows a research-based, victim-first approach to storytelling. Every article is grounded in publicly available information, including court documents, local archival news reports, and public records. When facts are unclear or disputed, I strive to clearly label speculation and cite my sources.
I aim to:
- Respect the dignity of victims and their families
- Correct any inaccuracies quickly if notified
- Update articles as new facts emerge
My goal is not to entertain, but to inform, and to help keep important stories alive in the public consciousness.
If you know of a case that didn’t get the attention it deserves, please email me at nepatruecrime@gmail.com
